About
The Policy Experiments Lab (PELab) is a team of collaborative researchers dedicated to conducting experimental studies with a strong focus on policy relevance. Based in Canberra at the Australian National University (ANU), PELab brings together experts from the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP).
Established in 2017, PELab addresses a critical need in the Australian and Asia-Pacific policy landscape for high quality, academically rigorous experimental evaluations with an explicit focus on policy design. The aim of PELab is to improve the quality of human life in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region by generating scientific evidence on the effectiveness of policies and programs.
ANU Partners
PELab has been set up as a partnership with the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods (CSRM), the Social Research Centre (Australia’s leading research service organisation), the Australian Data Archive (a national service for the collection, preservation and distribution of digital research data), and the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute in the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy. PELab also works closely with our CSRM partners in the Centre for Gambling Research (CGR).
